Staff Highlight: Welcome Erica!

Idaho Firewise welcomes aboard our newest staff member, Erica Jansen. Erica’s position with Idaho Firewise is the Fuels Mitigation & North Idaho Program Coordinator! We welcome Erica to the team after completion of the Idaho Firewise/Palouse Land Trust AmeriCorps position, Outreach and Community Engagement Assistant.

Here are just a few of Erica’s accomplishments as an AmeriCorps member with Idaho Firewise:

• Hosted youth educational events, “Kids on the Trail”
• Collaborated with partners to design educational interpretive signs
• Coordinated and implemented fuels mitigation projects in Northern and Southern Idaho
• Attended wildfire and forestry conferences
• Worked with communities across the state to host neighborhood chipping events
• Contributed to social media/marketing efforts
• Created an Idaho Firewise youth publication, “Junior Wildland Fire Ranger Program”
• Built relationships with stakeholders, collaborators and communities

Erica is excited to continue her professional relationship with Idaho Firewise while continuing to build upon previous projects and foster stakeholder/community relationships! Welcome aboard, Erica!
